With the DL version, I believe it charges via the OBD port, so that shouldn't be an issue. It won't last a day of 4x20min sessions, but a top off during lunch should suffice. On battery life, the AIM SOLO2 is terrible. With the usual hr+ wait, it's more than enough time to top off both. My trick has been to bring a small portable battery ()pack and plug in both phone and camera (gopro) in between sessions. As opposed, say, to just finding a place online and clicking add to cart. If you are buying, buy from a dealer that will provide support I know a couple dealers who are tremendously helpful in this regard. There is a massive Aim provided video library and extensive dealer support. The software has a learning curve but is worth the climb. The software can be configured to ignore in and out laps. I don't have that S/F issue, but I wouldn't worry about it. It is the current thing I should buy and will regret deeply not having done so when I eventually do. To clarify, Aim Solo2 does not collect video Aim sells the Smartycam which does but is not cheap ($1000+ I think). I know there is an auto start function, but the problem I run into is that at some tracks I'm grouped up before entering the track and cross S/F goin out to a hot pit grid which starts the timer but we haven't started a session, and at times it can be 10 minutes before the session starts.ĭo you just let the timer run, or do you stop it, and run an out lap and then let it pick up S/F to start automatically? My question is, and this is for Harry's and Aim users as well as others, and it has to do with starting it for each session. I'm considering going to the Aim Solo 2 because it seems to be easy to use and captures video as well.
